How we work in partnership with parents

  • Getting started. All children need a Settling In Period when they start nursery. In many cases, it’s the first time they’ve been ‘left’. A Home Visit before that happens will enable your child to meet one-on-one with their key worker on home territory, showing them and talking about their favourite toys and where they play at home. It will also put their perception of your relationship with their nursery manager on a reassuringly friendly footing.
  • Thereafter, You will know each day what your child will be doing at nursery and you’ll receive a brief one-page report each day when you collect them.
  • Every six months, you will have a Progress Review Meeting to review and discuss your child’s learning and development and then discuss and agree their Individual Learning Plan for the next six months.
  • There will also be Transition Meetings to plan your child’s progression from one nursery room to the next one and then, in Pre-School, important meetings to ensure a managed approach to their transition from Nursery to Primary School.
